Station Manager Joe Allen welcomed all new and existing members to the meeting and thanked them for the high turnout.

Joe Allen briefly ran through the setup of the new studios and the exiting opportunities the new facilities enable, before each committee member ran through their roles at the station.

Assistant Station Managers Giles Davy and Yuriko Matsukawa told of the ways new members can get involved as well as how new members can progress through the station.

Secretary Nick Birtles and Treasurer Emma Verity explained their roles at the station.

Head of Technology Matthew Wilson highlighted the importance of tech support in running and maintaining the studios and website. He is currently looking for new members to help him maintain the station, do not hesitate to contact m.wilson@sureadio.com

Head of Music Matthew Harrison outlined his role at liaising with record companies, organising interviews and updating the station’s music database.

Head of Production Rob Whiteway explained his committee role. He is seeking to broaden the production team in all fields, from production of podcasts to producing live shows, if interested contact r.whiteway@sureradio.com

Head of Promotions Richard White told the meeting of the importance of the station’s promotion and the need for every member to support the station at meetings and live events.

Head of News Joe Rowley explained to the meeting how he is seeking to improve the frequency and quality of Sure’s news broadcasts. He needs as many committed members as possible to help with these regular features, please contact j.rowley@sureradio.com

Head of Sports Chris Headley explained how he also wanted to expand the sports section of the radio by having members at local football, basketball, ice hockey etc. games, and reporting back to the station. Again, Chris is looking for those eager to take part, contact c.headley@sureradio.com.

Finally, Head of Programming Mike McCarthy told new members how they could get involved in show presenting. Application forms were handed out, however those interested can still contact programming@sureradio.com but must do so as soon as possible.
